Versatech Industries History

The organization was founded in 1962 as “Arc Industries” by parents of men and women with intellectual disabilities to provide respite and “day programs” for their sons and daughters.

It was incorporated September 26, 1978 (Manitoba) as Arc Industries Inc.

Its name was changed to VERSATECH INDUSTRIES INC. June 12, 1986 to differentiate itself from other unrelated organizations throughout North America calling themselves “ARC Industries” and to avoid identification with organizations synonymous with intellectually handicapped children and/or citizens using “ARC” as an acronym.

VERSATECH INDUSTRIES INC. is a registered charity (charitable registration no. 11928 3513 RR0001).
