Programs and Services

With their wide range of supportive services, adult day programs afford adults and seniors living with intellectual disabilities opportunities to live, learn, work and play as a vital part of their community or neighborhood. They are designed to meet the needs of people who need support to carry out activities of daily living, and they provide for their physical and emotional well-being through social, vocational, and communication programs, and recreational activities. In addition, these valuable programs offer respite, support, and education for family members and other caregivers.

By staying active during the day and returning home in the evening, individuals keep a sense of independence and remain close to their families. These day programs give the families peace of mind, knowing that their loved one is enjoying companionship and care. Most importantly, participation in an adult day program enables the individual to integrate and remain in the community and enables their families to continue caring for them at home.

The programs in which we invest are practical, engaging, and evidence-based, with reviews at regular intervals. Personal care workers whose qualifications include CPR/First Aid, emergency first aid, a criminal record check, child abuse registry, and, in some cases, a clear driver’s abstract with $5million liability, deliver the programs with compassion, creativity, and respect, and they assist with monitoring the processes and outcomes of the programs.

Our preliminary investigations have identified programs that we feel are in need of support in order to continue providing services to intellectually challenged individuals:
